Tyra has been involved at Covenant for over 15 years. She began her role as a childcare worker and then became a teacher in the Children's Academy. She was the youth director from 2003-2008. She became a member of Covenant in 2007. In August 2008, Tyra accepted the position of Director of Christian Education for the church.

Tyra is a Springfield native. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Wittenberg University and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Antioch McGregor.
