ABOUT US

OUR VISION

We are a downtown, mission driven, inclusive community of God. We are blessed to be able to share the Good News of the gospel in Springfield and our surrounding area.

WHAT WE DO

Covenant is a place where people of all ages can grow in the Christian faith and meet new people who enjoy serving the Lord and our neighbors.

OUR COMMUNITY

Our congregation is made up of people that come from all over the United States, Haiti, Ukraine, Central and South America. We are a both/and congregation in our politics, approach to social justice issues, and understanding of how the Lord moves in and through us.

Our History

Covenant Presbyterian’s history began in the early 1800s. In 1919, two local Presbyterian churches, First and Second, merged. The name Covenant Presbyterian was chosen, reflecting the faith and loyalty of the two congregations. Soon after, a need for a larger building was identified, and the present building, located at 201 N. Limestone in Springfield, Ohio, was built in 1927. Our building is a magnificent example of Gothic architecture in our community. The church also houses the Covenant Children’s Academy, a preschool program. Covenant is a member of Presbyterian Church USA. From our earliest beginnings, Covenant Presbyterian has embraced the spirit of growth and challenge in the Clark County and Springfield community. We now eagerly await the challenges God will present us with in the years to come.
